The Funny Names Foundation has often faced accusations of excessive focus on each year’s new crop of professional athletes, while ignoring the rich historical vein of people in sports-related support positions who, while not necessarily athletes themselves, still have names that sound like they should instead have been a porn star, a hobo, or the sheriff of a small Wyoming town in the 1870s in a cartoon written by a Martian. That discrepancy ends today, as we will look at some of the great names in coaching team sports. The FNF is proud to present the Managerial Hall of Fame, beginning with baseball.
